Tradition meets modernity
Founded in 1575 as the "Oberer Bräu", operated by the Schnitzlbaumer family since 1889 and handed over to the Frauendörfer family in 2014, today's Schnitzlbaumer private brewery is the oldest brewery in the beer town of Traunstein. Tradition meets modernity - in this private brewery, the Bavarian brewing trade is cultivated and skilfully supplemented with modern elements. In the brewery bar, the guests take a seat in the middle of the active brewhouse of the brewery. The master brewer Stephanie Frauendörfer, who won the World Beer Award in the “Bavarian wheat beer” category in 2015, is responsible for the copper brew kettle.

Brewery tours include a tour of the brewery and a tasting in the brewery taproom. There are no fixed tour dates - we ask that groups of 5 to 30 people make an appointment.
Adults: €9.90, children can participate free of charge.

Next to the Bavarian Wirtshaus im Sudhaus, the small pro-beer bar "Schalander" offers a cozy place to try modern beers from our own production. The offer is supplemented by international beer specialties and bar specialties.
