Sights to see & places to visit

A directory through the Chiemgau

The Chiemgau holiday region is known for its TOP sights. At the top of the list in popularity is Castle Herrenchiemsee, which has been visited by millions of guests since the death of the "fairy tale king" in 1886.

Bavarian castles and monasteries around Lake Chiemsee

With Palace Herrenchiemsee, King Ludwig II left the Chiemgau a world-renowned attraction. The neighboring Fraueninsel with the cathedral, campanile and herb garden is just as attractive. There are other imposing monasteries and castles in Seeon, Baumburg and Tittmoning.
