Tour description:

Refreshment options on Buchberg circular trail: Raitner Wirt, Gasthof Zellerwand. Hiking pin checkpoint: Raitner Wirt. Special features: dam of river Tiroler Ache with gravel banks; with a bit of luck you can observe some rare bird species (Flussregenpfeifer).Special hint: Excursion to nearby Mettenhamer Filz - here you can find Sonnentau, which is a native carnivorous plant.

Description: From the car park in Raiten, take the main road directly into the forest on a forest path towards Mettenham. At the turn-off to the right towards Mettenham, Zellersee, continue straight on to the Baumgarten car park on the main road. Here, turn left towards Achen dam to the river Ache. Shortly before this, you will see two streams crossing - the Alpbach flows under the Mühlbach. There are lovely gravel banks on the Ache for playing or cooling off. From here, go back left along the Ache, always towards Raiten, to a staircase and a short stretch of narrow path with rope safety. Then continue comfortably to the forest road and follow the signs to Raiten, to the starting point.
