Die große Runde

We start the hike from the church parking lot and go onto Dorfstrasse (left) and after the Gasthof Hinterwirt, we also turn left onto Ringstrasse. After the Bühler nursery, we turn right (21) and follow Hocherlacher Straße to the Hadergasse junction (19). After a 15-minute climb through shady high forest, a small footpath turns sharply to the right. We walk along the cedar fence up the small “beaten path” to the cross street. Our hike continues left to the tarred Westerbuchberg road, into which we turn right. After 200 m, through a small wooden gate, the small stairs go up to the Kreuzbichl viewpoint on the left. From a bench you can enjoy the best overview of the Chiemgau Alps with Hochfelln, Hochgern, Hochplatte, Kampenwand and the unique raised moor the Kendlmühlfilzen. Strengthened with a snack, here or in the nearby Gasthof Alpenhof, our hike leads a house in front of the Alpenhof further south down the small descent to the Westerbuchberg circular route no. 20.
