Between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl the Weitsee, the Mittersee and the Lödensee form one of the most beautiful lake landscapes in the Chiemgau, the three-lake region. Locals affectionately call it “Little Canada”.
The three lakes are located directly on one of the most popular cycle paths in the region - the Chiemgau cycle path . In a narrow valley, the tour leads flat from Reit im Winkl first to the Weitsee, followed by flat Mittersee and Lödensee. In the further course to Inzell, the altitude profile is a bit more demanding.
If you are on foot, follow the signposted hiking trails. Starting points are the car parks along the B305, which are also the starting point for detours to the idyllic Röthelmoos Almen.
Tip
Even in winter, the nature reserve is a paradise for cross-country skiing and winter hiking in the snowy landscape. And in summer a popular bathing area!
