Tour description:
What a great feeling to be pushed in a pram over lush alpine meadows past free-roaming animals. A highlight for every family. Feel and taste......that's how nature smells on the Alm.
Starting point: Church of St. Johann in the mountains on the Winklmoos - Alm After visiting the very simple but beautiful church, take the "children's taxi" to the fun. Passing the Sonnenalm, rustic alpine huts, horses and cows, we come to the pond, where you can really enjoy a picnic. The creek bed wants to be explored, there is a lot to marvel at and see, feel and smell. Funny figures can be built from stones, if you want to jump into the Salzburger Land, it's so close... keep your eyes open and you'll discover it.
Follow the same path back for a short distance, turn right after the alp onto the road to the Traunsteiner Hütte junction and stroll comfortably a little along a field path to the hut. The Dürrnbachhorn chair lift is very close. Past the grazing cows, you hike comfortably along the hiking trail in the direction of the Finsterbachalm. There is a lot to discover here, lush alpine meadows with happy cows, a rustic alpine hut that invites you to take a break. Strengthened and overjoyed and full of impressions of the beautiful nature, we march back to the Winklmoos - Alm.
You can hop and jump over the alpine meadow. A break should be taken at the Maria Himmelfahrt chapel to look at and admire it. To get to the starting point, simply follow the road to the Winklmoos - Alm car park. If you don't want to walk that far, don't turn right to the Finsterbachalm, but follow the road to the Dürrnbachhornalmen directly at the foot of the Dürrnbachhorn (only drinks are served)!
Tip: A trip on the nostalgic chair lift is a great experience for the whole family. Just park the buggy and up to the top (1610). An unforgettable experience, unique the view and the panorama of the surrounding mountains, the great nature.
Refreshment stops: restaurants and alpine huts on the Winklmoos-Alm
The Winklmoos-Alm can be reached via the toll road from Seegatterl!
It lies picturesquely against the backdrop of the mighty Loferer Steinberge: our mountain chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, built in 1905. On August 15th of each year, it stands as a landmark of our Winklmoos-Alm at the center of the celebrations for the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. A ride on the nostalgic chair lift is a great experience for young and old.
