16 Chiemsee fishermen set their nets in the lake every day - in all weathers. They pass on their centuries-old craft from generation to generation. There are many fish huts, smokehouses and stalls around the lake and on Fraueninsel. Guests and locals alike love the Steckerlfisch, fish sandwiches and whole smoked whitefish. Although there are 30 species of fish in Lake Chiemsee, (almost) everything revolves around the whitefish.
