Valley station of the Hochplattenbahn - Rachlalm - Hufnagelalm - Hefteralm - Chiemseeblick vantage point - Strehtrupp - Zeppelinhöhe - fairy tale adventure park - valley station of the Hochplattenbahn
From the parking lot of the Hochplattenbahn, the forest path begins in the direction of Hochplatte. After approx. 1 km the path to the Hochplatte branches off to the left, we continue straight ahead to the Rachlalm . The path first leads mainly through the forest, crosses the route of the Hochplattenbahn and shortly afterwards we reach the Grassau Alm areas , on the right the forest opens up and you have the first view of the valley . Now, after another gate, it is not far to the first place to stop for refreshments, the Rachlalm (open from the beginning/middle of May, depending on the weather). The hiking trail leads to the right behind the Rachlalm (signposted to the Hefteralm , Rottau, Grassau ) and on to the Hufnaglalm . After a gate and trespassing, the path becomes a meadow path that leads to the Hefteralm . From mid-May, the Guggenbichler family will provide you with snacks such as homemade cheese, bread, cakes, Kaiserschmarrn or buttermilk . In addition to cows, the family also keeps goats and ponies on the alp.
Behind the popular Alm, turn right past the traditional bread oven, which is still in use, through a gate with a magnificent view of Lake Chiemsee . Continue downhill through the forest to a crossroads where you can also find the Chiemseeblick vantage point . Here we keep to the right downhill in the direction of Grassau and continue hiking with a pleasant incline on a wide forest path through the forest to the Strehomah farmstead. Here you can once again enjoy the beautiful view of the moor and Lake Chiemsee. Shortly after the house on the right, please note the fork in the path! This path leads through the forest over the Zeppelinhöhe and past the fairy tale adventure park back to the starting point, the Hochplattenbahn valley station .
