From the southeast end of Lake Chiemsee, the Hochgern jumps straight into your eye. In addition to the Hochfelln , it characterizes the Chiemgau mountain landscape and is one of the best viewpoints in the region. There are no higher peaks in the surrounding area that block the view, so you can enjoy a perfect all-round view from the top.
A unique mountain panorama
After more than 1,100 meters of altitude, a breathtaking view awaits you. Your gaze stretches far and wide across the country. Lake Chiemsee glitters at your feet with its islands, sailing boats and water sports enthusiasts. If you let your gaze wander further, the Alpine panorama will be on display. From the Berchtesgaden Alps over the Steinberge and the Kaisergebirge to the Hohe Tauern you let your eyes wander.
On your way up there are four places to stop for refreshments to offer you a hearty snack or sweet Kaiserschmarrrn. The managed alpine pastures and the Hochgernhaus are the ideal opportunity to rest a little before heading to the summit.
