Kapellenweg - Runde Westerbuchberg

From the Kath. Pfarrkirche car park (1) or at the school, take Kirchweg to Grassauer Straße. Looking towards the left the Evang. Eternity Church (2). Here approx. 30 m south, then left into the dead-end street (Immobilien Günther), over a wooden bridge and slightly uphill to the Alberer Weg intersection. Cross straight ahead and in the extension (a good 100 m) to Landtechnik Huber. To the left is the Gassner Chapel (3). Back to Alberer Weg and follow it south to its end (concrete road). The area of the water procurement association (WBV) is visible on the half right. Turn into Bachwegerl via the concrete road in front of the WBV. Past the Halser memorial stone (approx. 250-300 m) and in the extension with a left-right combination in the OT Gröben. Through this and crossing the main road to Grassau to the stream bridge and Daxmüller Chapel (7). In another 150 m, to the left of the road on the Westerbuchberg (near the Hotel Schöne Aussicht) is the Ölbergkapelle at Halsererbichl (8). Now continue uphill for about 1.5 km to the Kirchem on the Westerbuchberg (9). The path continues along the narrow tarred road, past the church, and in a wide arc it goes back down through the forest to Wessener Straße, which leads past the northern side of the Westerbuchberg. A shortcut, but only suitable for pedestrians, is possible: in front of the Alpenhof inn, a former church path (dashed red and white) leads to the right over to the forest. This takes you quickly down to Wessener Straße. Both variants come together here. You can quickly return to the starting point via Wessener Straße, Hocherlacher Straße and finally Ringstraße.
