MTB 17 Hochplatte circular tour (from Marquartstein)

The tour starts at the Hochplattenbahn hiking car park. From there we first cycle downhill towards the fairytale park. There we go along the edge of the forest to Grassau. For a while we follow the cycle path along the road towards Rottau, then we turn left towards Adersberg. Soon we go up a wide forest road past some alpine pastures. We enjoy the view of Hochplatte and Friedenrath as well as into the Loferer Steinberge, before we continue downhill on the forest path. After about 500m we take an alpine path to the right up past the Plattn-Alm to the saddle of the Haberspitz, the highest point of the tour. From there you can make a detour to the Piesenhausener Hochalm, return on the same route as on the outward journey, but then continue on the alpine path towards the valley station of the Hochplattenbahn. The Staffn Alm offers another opportunity to stop for a break before heading back down to the starting point. Refreshment options: Piesenhausener Hochalm, Staffn Alm (please note the opening times)
