About 20 young cattle are allowed to spend their "summer vacation" every year on the Oberauerbrunst Alm high above the Schlechinger valley. For nature lovers, a hike to the alpine pasture on the southern slope of the Chiemgau plateau is particularly worthwhile at the beginning of the alpine summer in May. Because then the stalkless gentian blooms in all its glory around the alpine hut and transforms the alpine meadows into a blue sea of flowers. Connoisseurs should definitely try the fresh alpine nuts, which are among the culinary specialties of the Oberauerbrunst Alm. Summiteers hike from the Alm further up to the summit of the Chiemgauer Hochplatte.
