Shopping list:

6 eggs
300g sugar
2 vanilla sugar
450g flour
1 sachet baking powder
200ml sunflower oil
Plums

Preparation:

 

Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla until frothy.

Drizzle in the oil.

Mix the flour and baking powder, sieve into the egg mixture and fold in.

Wash, halve and stone the plums.

Spread the batter on a baking tray and top with the plum halves.


Temperature: 180°C
Baking time: approx. 30 mins

When?

Datschi is made in the plum season in August and September, sometimes even in October. Even today, the plums are still hand-picked in Grandma's garden and then made into "Datschi" with yeast dough.
