Tour description:
Gasthof Hindenburghütte - Info Point - Anna Chapel - Obere Hemmersuppenalm - Brunnen - Felsenquelle - Schumacherkreuz - Eggenalmkogel - Straubinger House - Sulzner Kaser - Gasthof Hindenburghütte
Behind the Gasthof Hindenburghütte (accessible from Reit im Winkl with a chargeable shuttle bus) the path starts uphill to the left. At the junction with the "Sulzner Kaser" a big info point provides an overview of the launch here of the premium ways.
Go left, following the signs to Anna Chapel . From the chapel it goes slightly downhill to the right to the Obere Hemmersuppenalm . At the fork in the road by a well of a healing spring , Almgenuss leads to the right in the direction of Straubinger Haus . Now it goes gently uphill over a meadow path towards the end of the valley - a population of marmots lives here, if you are lucky you can watch them after a high-pitched whistle. The path climbs, leads past a small waterfall , then over a footbridge. Finally you come to a junction with a signpost. At a rock face with a rock spring , it goes left over a winding, steep path to the Schuhmacherkreuz .
Shortly afterwards, at the highest point of the tour, the Eggenalmkogel , a bench offers a fantastic view of Reit im Winkl , the Chiemsee and the nearby Kaiser Mountains. From the bank, follow the signs to the Straubinger Haus on the right. Here we enjoy the view of the Wilder Kaiser, whose massif rises tremendously across from the large, in-house sun terrace .
Directly next to the Straubinger Haus , the way back leads sharply to the right, past a chapel, back towards the Hindenburghütte . Downhill on a gravel and stone path, a brook babbles to the right. Take the path towards Sulzner Kaser, Hindenburghütte . The stony path almost always leads straight down. At a crossroads, turn right towards Hindenburghütte .
At the next intersection go straight on. On the left, the Alm Sulzner Kaser invites you to stop for a break. A few meters later, the path leads left, in the direction of the Hindenburghütte , back on the familiar route.
The alpine rose blooms in June.
