Tour description:
The 60 km long Chiemsee cycle path runs close to the "Bavarian Sea" . With a total of 159 meters in altitude, it is ideal for a relaxed day tour. Around the lake there are numerous lidos and secluded bathing bays, as well as inns, cafés, fish huts and beach bars. The consistently signposted route is ideal for normal to athletic cyclists and e-bikers . The route guidance usually allows you to drive quickly (see also tip). The constant companion of the tour is the panoramic view of the Chiemgau Alps. The Chiemsee towns of Übersee, Grabenstätt, Chieming, Seebruck, Gstadt, Prien and Bernau are right on the trail, and you can start anywhere. If necessary, the tour can be shortened with the Chiemsee ring line or with the Chiemseeschifffahrt (only possible in the summer months, bikes can be taken on the ship depending on the occupancy).
Tip: For many locals, the circumnavigation of the lake is on the annual to-do list. They often start early in the morning and avoid the weekends. Then they own the paths over long distances alone. The circumnavigation is also a pleasure in spring or autumn. Some find it particularly appealing on snowless winter days.
Note: The Chiemsee- Rundweg , also called "uferweg" by the locals, contains bottlenecks and is therefore reserved for walkers. Please always follow the signs.
