At the former customs office there are two car parks from which the inn can be reached quickly (ascent time: from the 1st car park: approx. 30 minutes, from the 2nd car park: approx. 10 minutes) .
The Gasthof Steichen also offers the perfect place to stop off along the Samer and Smugglers' Trail(duration of ascent: approx. 2-2 ½ hours, entire circular route approx. 4 hours) .
Behind the inn is the well-known pilgrimage churchof St. Servatius . This is adorned with around 1,440 wall paintings from the Middle Ages . The church from the 14th century and the beautiful view with the Geigelstein and the Kampenwand in the background offer the perfect ambience for a comfortable rest in the mountain inn.
