Alpine circular trail to the historic Streichenkirche - one of the typical landmarks of the municipality of Schleching
Tour description:
Alpine circular trail. Refreshment options: Petereralm (*). Typical alpine snack during alpine grazing season. Description: From the starting point in Wagrain, you first go along the road to Achberg until a path on the right leads to the lower Streichen car park. From here, turn left towards Streichen via Haideralm, thus avoiding the clouds of dust from the cars driving to the upper Streichen car park. In wet weather or when there is little traffic, you can also go straight from the lower Streichen car park to Streichen. Soon you will reach a turnoff on the right to a steeper path (shortcut to Haideralm), but you can also follow the road. As soon as you are back on the forest road, continue right past the Haideralm in the direction of Chiemhauser Alm until a path on the right leads towards Petereralm and Streichen. The Bergasthof Streichen and the historic Streichen Church of St. Servatius with frescoes and Gothic altar are always worth a "trip". The view to the south towards the Wilder Kaiser and the view to the north over the Achental and the Geigelstein are magnificent. The way back can be chosen as dust-free as the way up, or you can follow the road directly to the upper and lower Streichen car park and then to Wagrain, always following the signs. Achental hiking pin checkpoints: Achberg; Berggasthof Streichen
