The Unterberg is the sport and leisure mountain of Ruhpolding . Comfortably with the chairlift or simply on foot it goes up from 740 meters to 1425 meters. At the top, a cozy high-altitude hiking area awaits you in summer with a wonderful 360 panoramic view , which extends from the Central Alps to beyond the Chiemsee. The Unterberg-Alm , which was newly established in 2017, is an ideal opportunity for a snack before the descent. From the small, family-friendly hike to the summit of the Unterberg to the demanding tour over the Branderalm on the Hörndl, everything is possible. Mountain bike enthusiasts will also get their money's worth on the Unternberg. The Flugcenter Ruhpolding makes long-awaited dreams come true. Basic courses through cross-country flight seminars and tandem flights are offered here. In addition, a beautiful playground makes children's hearts beat faster.
In winter, toboggan fans race down the almost 5km long toboggan run into the valley. Ski tourers and freeriders are happy about the free ski space and enjoy wonderful deep snow descents. A ski touring trail on the former ski slope provides information about behavior in the open ski area.
