Tour description:
Tip: This hike can also be done by bus. Which line, which stop, which way to go? That's below. All public transport tips have been tested before publication.
This beautiful walk begins on the eastern shore of Lake Chiemsee, at the barrier-free nature observation station in Chieming. The shore hike offers wonderful views over the lake and the Chiemgau Alps. On the right is the idyllic village of Stöttham. A special stop is the Stöttham cemetery with the plague church and Marienbad, a testament to earlier summer resorts. The last stretch leads back to the starting point along the Isabella-Nadolny-Weg, at the end of which is the former house of the author, who died in 2014. Finally, you can enjoy the view over Lake Chiemsee.
Without a car to Chieming
How to get there : Line 9520 from Traunstein train station to Prien am Chiemsee
Exit : Chieming gas station stop
Way to the Chiemsee shore : Follow the main road in the direction of travel and go straight ahead at the ice cream parlor to the lake shore. Finally turn right onto the Uferweg. This is where the hike begins (the "Chiemseering" starting point for the tour is a parking lot, which can be reached after about 5 minutes).
Travel time: approx. 15 minutes by bus + 5 minutes on foot to the shore
