From the Hochgern hikers' car park in Marquartstein, it goes along beautiful forest paths up to the Schnappenkirche with a magnificent view of the country and Chiemsee, as well as the Achental. Shortly before the Schnappenkirche, an idyllic, largely flat trail leads to the Staudacher Alm. Open from the beginning of June to the end of September, telephone: 08662 2378

 

Without a car to the Hochgern hiking car park

How to get there : Line 9505 from Prien am Chiemsee train station to Reit im Winkl

Exit : Marquartstein Rathaus stop

Route to the hikers' car park: Walk 150m from the town hall in the direction of the town center and turn right at the knight's fountain. Then cross the Achen Bridge and keep to the right. After a curve, follow the signs uphill.

Travel time: approx. 30 minutes by bus + 20 minutes on foot

Arrival by car

A8 Munich-Salzburg to the Bernau exit, then B305 to Marquartstein. Turn left at the end of the village, drive over the historic Achen Bridge and then immediately turn right into Alte Dorfstraße. Where it makes a right turn, continue straight ahead up the mountain to the Hochgern hiking car park. Large free parking lot!

Arrival by public transport

Take the RVO bus line 9505 or 9508 in the direction of Reit im Winkl to the Marquartstein-Rathaus stop and from there follow the signs to "Schnappenkirche" on foot.
