Lake Chiemsee is not only a great spot for water sports and home to around 30 species of fish. The largest lake in Bavaria, the “ Bavarian Sea”, also has a lot to offer for hikers. There are beautiful, year-round hiking trails in Übersee, in the Hirschauer Bucht, from Chieming to Seebruck and on to Prien. The circuit around the Herrenchiemsee island is around ten kilometers long. It leads to the beautiful viewpoints “Otto's Ruh” and “Pauls Ruh”. The neighboring Fraueninsel, on the other hand, can be circumnavigated in 20 minutes. A special highlight is an evening stroll on the east bank (Übersee, Chieming, Seebruck). Why? Because of the fantastic sunsets! It is quite possible that the evening will end with a cocktail in hand ... Many restaurants, fish huts and cafes on the wayside take care of your physical well-being.
