The municipality in the Bavarian Alps offers numerous trails for beginners and advanced skiers, leading through snow-covered forests and along glistening rivers. The tours are divided into easy, medium and difficult trails. The night trail at the campsite in Inzell is also something very special, with floodlit trails every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 5 pm in winter.

Skiing & Snowboarding

Skiing in Inzell offers winter sports enthusiasts a wide range of options. Especially for families with children, Inzell is a perfect winter destination. The small but beautiful Kessel-Lifte ski area is ideal for families and beginners with its gentle slopes and cosy atmosphere. But the small Pommern lift or the Bioteaque snow park are also perfect for first-time skiers.

Tobogganing

Tobogganing in Inzell is winter fun for the whole family. The idyllic community in the Bavarian Alps offers two toboggan runs that provide fun and variety. The natural toboggan run in Adelgaß is particularly popular, with a length of around 1.2 kilometres and fast descents. After a leisurely ascent, you can enjoy the snow-covered landscape to the full before speeding downhill on your toboggan. The tyre slide at the Kesselalm is also a highlight, surrounded by dense forests and wintry tranquillity, grab a tyre and off you go snow tubing. Numerous huts and inns in Inzell invite you to stop for a cosy break after your tobogganing fun, serving regional specialities and warm drinks.

Winter hiking

Winter hiking in Inzell is an enchanting way to discover the snow-covered landscape of the Bavarian Alps. The well-prepared winter hiking trails lead through quiet forests, across wide snowfields and along picturesque streams . The Inzell Frillensee circuit is particularly popular , leading past the mountain forest adventure trail around the Frillensee lake and back. The idyllic path to the Bäckeralm also makes for a leisurely hike.

Here you can try out ice skating or speed skating while marvelling at the impressive architecture of the modern arena. There are numerous other destinations around Inzell for days when the sun isn't shining. A visit to the Holzknecht Museum in Ruhpolding will immerse you in the life of the lumberjacks of the Bavarian Alps and at Herrenchiemsee Castle you can learn all about the history of King Ludwig.

Special highlights: Balloon week & balloon glow

Balloon Week 2025 in Inzell, which takes place from 2 to 7 February , will once again be a winter highlight for visitors from near and far. Every day, numerous colourful hot-air balloons take to the skies and offer an impressive spectacle over the snow-covered landscape of Chiemgau. The highlight is the balloon glow on 7 February, when the balloons light up in a synchronised sea of lights. This event, accompanied by music and regional specialities, creates a magical atmosphere and shows why Inzell is so popular as a winter destination.
